Nvidia Quadro P1000 with MOSAIC support
As the name suggests, the high-performance Nvidia Quadro P1000 graphics card with 4GB DDR5 memory forms the heart of the new Mini-PC. The main feature of this graphics card is the MOSAIC support: with the help of the four HDMI interfaces, up to four screens can be connected in a network as a single desktop. The highlight here is that the screens remain connected even if a cable is disconnected.
Nvidia’s Nview and CUDA support
Another interesting feature of the graphics card is the Nview function. This tool, which is standard on all Nvidia Geforce graphics cards, can be used to make the screen more efficient. Nview is designed for all those who need to edit and process several windows or large amounts of data on their PC at the same time. On the one hand, working with Nview can easily be spread across several screens, so that open windows are no longer all on just one screen. On the other hand, it is also possible to distribute the windows to virtual desktops, between which you can switch at the touch of a button.
The Nvidia Quadro P1000 also offers CUDA support. Thanks to the 640 CUDA cores, which are based on the Pascal CPU, a wide variety of visualization programs, such as CAD, can be easily implemented.
Connection diversity thanks to 3x USB and 4x HDMI
The new addition to the digital signage mini PCs is equipped with various connections. The power button and two indicator lights for the HDD or SSD and WiFi are located on the front (see also “What is the difference between HDD and SSD?” and “What is LAN?“). One of a total of three USB 3.0 ports, two jack connections and an SD card reader are also located here.
In addition to two Gigabit LAN interfaces, the Mini PC’s back panel also offers four HDMI ports, which enable multi-monitor operation. They can be used to connect up to four screens with a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 @60Hz – i.e. 4K – at the same time (see also “What is the difference between 4K and 8K?“). This multi-monitor capability combined with the special Nview feature makes the QUADRO P1000 the perfect workstation solution. In addition, there is a COM port, two antenna ports and an SPDIF on the back, which is particularly advantageous in the stereo range (see also “What is SPDIF?“).
Power-saving Intel® CPU and individual configuration
Our actively cooled QUADRO P1000 is equipped with an Intel® Core i5-7300U, which offers a performance of 2.6 GHz up to 3.5 GHz. The “U” in the name stands for “Ultralow”, as it is an energy-saving 15 watt processor (you can read more about TDP in another blog post). The Mini-PC can be equipped with up to 32 GB of DDRIV memory and either an HDD or SSD. All versions of Windows 10, i.e. Home, Professional and IoT, are available as the operating system for this system. The integration of a WLAN or Bluetooth module is also possible thanks to the built-in M.2 slot.
