With the spo-book ELIX QM87, we are now launching a system that meets even the most demanding requirements and is technically up to date – whether for individualized trade fair use or general customer communication in the supermarket around the corner.

This is guaranteed by high-res screen resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160 px and extensive remote maintenance options thanks to Intel iAMT 9.0, including optional integration into mobile networks such as UMTS/LTE. Securely packaged in a robust metal housing, the new mini PC blends smoothly and unobtrusively into its surroundings thanks to its very flat design. The latest 4th generation Intel Core i technology (Haswell) is the guarantee for longevity – and, even more importantly, for resource-saving use in terms of costs and energy.

The technical basis of the mainboards is now Intel’s mobile Ivy Bridge technology with the QM77 chipset. The new models were named accordingly. They replace the previous EXPANDED HM67 and NINETEEN HM67 models. Combined with the right processors, there is more performance with the same or even lower power consumption. 

Flexibility is the outstanding feature of the two new models. On the one hand, all important components, such as processor, memory and mass storage, are configurable. This means that the system can be tailored precisely to the respective project and budget requirements. They also have a fully-fledged PCIe 16x slot, which enables the integration of corresponding PCIe cards.

The NINETEEN is designed for use in racks and data centers and can be equipped with a 3.5” RAID hard disk system. The EXPANDED is a stand-alone system and offers a 2.5” RAID hard disk system on request. Further technical information can be found on our product pages.

The DROID is housed in a robust metal casing, has a choice of a 2- or 4-core processor and is equipped with numerous interfaces. This of course includes USB, W-LAN and HDMI, but also the option of connecting analog audio devices, controlling devices with a serial interface or connecting the DROID to a network via cable.

This expands the range of applications and ensures reliable connections. Android version 4.3 is currently available as the operating system.  The internal memory comprises 8 GB and can be increased by up to 64 GB with an additional memory card.

The robust system stands on a stable base and is operated via the 15” touch panel with resistive touch. In addition to a Dual Core Atom CPU and 2 gigabytes of RAM, a 320 GB hard disk is also available. There are connections for magnetic card readers, customer screens and a cash drawer. Other serial, USB and network interfaces are also available, e.g. for receipt printers. These are mounted under a cover so that the cables can be laid inconspicuously using a guide. Windows 7 and Windows 7 Embedded POS ready are available as operating systems on request.

The model has a narrow touchscreen with a flat surface. This is not only easy to maintain, but also offers IP65 protection. The other hardware corresponds to the entry-level spo-book POS NM10 system.

Current systems for POS

For this reason, we pay particular attention to this area. All drivers provided by us have been extensively tested. Manufacturer updates are also only adopted after a basic test. The current, tested selection of the necessary drivers can be found on the product information page of the model under the “Product details & downloads” tab. Here you can download the drivers for the operating systems supported by the Mini-PC and unpack and install them using a standard compression program.

Of course, the drivers are also sent with every delivery of spo-comm Mini-PCs. In order to offer an up-to-date version of tested drivers at all times, most systems are supplied with a USB stick. This means that we are always able to supply the latest drivers, even for small series of systems. In addition, the customer has the option of updating the drivers on the USB stick over time.

Our entry-level model RUGGED NM10 feels very comfortable at temperatures from -20°C to +60°C and, in combination with an SSD and thanks to passive cooling, does not require any moving mechanics.

The inner workings are also reliable, as the tried and tested Atom platform from Intel with a 2-core CPU has been installed in a solid metal housing. The RUGGED NM10 is now available.

This is the optimum answer when, for example, temperatures fluctuate between -30° and +60° degrees or when the appliances are shaken and rattled. 

The RUGGED T56N has an AMD Dual Core CPU with a powerful AMD Radeon HD6320 graphics card. The high-quality metal housing protects against external influences and at the same time provides the necessary cooling even in the extended temperature range (in combination with an SSD). This eliminates the need for fans or other moving parts and thus considerably increases life expectancy.

spo-comm is now offering wireless mini keyboards with a multi-touch pad with either a German or English keyboard layout.

To match the mini PCs, spo-comm now also offers wireless mini keyboards. With keyboards based on 2.4 GHz wireless technology, computers can be easily operated even in hard-to-reach places. All you need is a USB port for the receiver on the computer itself. The keyboard, which is only 253 mm wide, has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for the power supply and a multi-touch pad as a mouse replacement, as we know it from modern notebooks. You can not only “click” with it, but also scroll, zoom or move. 

The keyboard is reduced to the essentials, but still has all the function keys and special function keys familiar from standard PCs. It is finished off on the underside with a robust stainless steel plate. The keyboards are available immediately and can be ordered as part of a system or individually. They are supplied together with a USB charging cable and a USB micro receiver.

Equipped with a Pentium® 2020M CPU from Intel®, which has two cores with 2.4 GHz each, the system offers all the advantages of the modern IvyBridge platform. The available connections qualify the mini PC for a wide range of applications, such as digital signage, kiosks or as the central control unit of a POS system.

The spo-book MOVE QM77 is specially designed for use in harsh environments. Temperatures from -40°C to +70°C are no problem, as is use in all types of vehicles.

Thanks to the interfaces and expansion options, the system is also suitable for use as a server.
