The ProDaM® software solution is an interactive bicycle saddle that first measures and analyzes the relevant part of the body. The main criteria in the search for a suitable system for this project were very good hardware support for Linux, long-term availability of the systems and partnership-based contact with the manufacturer.

The spo-book WINDBOX II is a perfect fit. The passively cooled processor, the 19mm flat, high-quality metal housing, equipped with a 16GB solid state disk, quickly convinced Prodam’s development department. With only 17 watts of power consumption under full load, the running costs also remain manageable after purchase. The hardware from spo-comm in combination with the software from ProDaM – Java Swing based on Debian 6.0 – forms the complete solution. The result of the analysis is used to select and offer a suitable item via the product finder. The ordering system is linked to the product finder. This means that the right saddle can be ordered directly after configuration without any great effort.

Product / Solution

The harsh and noisy environment within production poses very specific challenges for digital information systems. On the one hand, the appropriate display of information that is perceived under the environmental conditions mentioned, and on the other hand, reliable hardware. The PIN digital signage software developed by m.i.b. was used for the display, and its flexible approach makes it easy to fulfill such individual requirements. The spo-book WINDBOX II is used as the player. The fanless design minimizes the risk of contamination, as well as the risk of failure. This effect is supported by the low power consumption of just 14 watts.

The look is an absolute highlight here: the shimmering stainless steel casing attracts everyone’s attention.
