Most of our customers already know that the Mini PCs are manufactured in our in-house production facility in Nuremberg. spo-comm currently has three permanent employees in this department. They take care of booking in the new goods, including mainboards and housings as well as components such as software licenses and RAM bars. However, the main task lies in the actual production of the Mini-PCs. As soon as a customer places an order, the colleagues get to work and create the desired system individually for each customer. On the one hand, this includes the installation of the individual components and - if requested by the customer - also the installation of operating systems or the installation of a customer image. Another part of our daily production process is the dispatch of the finished systems. As this is handled centrally every day at our Nuremberg site, we can offer our customers throughout Europe a delivery time of just 1-2 working days.
spo-comm is growing from year to year. Conversely, this means that there are more and more systems to screw in our production. That is why, in addition to permanent employees, our team also includes temporary staff who actively support our production alongside their school or university studies.
We asked two of our temporary staff, Lucas and Philipp, what they like about their job at spo-comm:
Lukas: I would say the great atmosphere. The colleagues are super nice and there is generally a "you" culture. Working at spo-comm is also a really good change from my other tasks in the lab during my studies. Thanks to flexitime, I can easily combine work and university seminars.
Philipp: I immediately felt very welcome here. When I started working here, my colleagues trained me very quickly. After a short time, I was able to screw the systems completely independently. And if there is something special, I can always count on the help of experienced colleagues.
Lukas: I built my first PC with my brother when I was 13. I would say that has always suited me. In addition to my biochemistry studies, I still wanted to pursue this hobby. As one of my friends, Frederik, works at spo-comm, I became aware of the job and have now been part of the team for almost 2 years.
Philipp: I'm currently at the BOS in Nuremberg and before that I trained as an IT specialist. In order to gain practical experience alongside school, I looked for a part-time job in IT. As a student, I only have time in the afternoons, so it's good that I can organize my working hours flexibly at spo-comm. And my school is just around the corner.
Lukas(as if shot out of a pistol): The NANO H110. It's just such a nice and tidy system. You also have the option of installing every single component here. The CPU, the fan and RAM.
