Supply bottlenecks for hard disks -Reactions spo-comm

Due to the increasingly difficult situation on the hard disk market, we are now offering 120 GB instead of 160 GB hard disks as standard. This enables us to guarantee temporarily stable system prices. This measure does not currently apply to our spo-book WINDBOXII model, which is still available with a 160GB hard disk.

Compared to the prices in August, hard disk prices have currently increased by 200% to 300% with very limited availability. As the situation will not improve noticeably until mid-2012 at the earliest, we recommend that our customers consider using solid state disks.
