eKiosk & spo-comm – Supermarket of the future from real,-

11.12.2012

Since its foundation in 1999, the Dresden-based company eKiosk has developed into a leading manufacturer of (interactive) information systems. Robust PC hardware from spo-comm and individual software combined with high-quality housings and displays form the complete system.

Task

The real,- terminal from eKiosk has the following purpose: The customer orders the desired products conveniently from home or on the move via the Internet store. As soon as the items are available, the shopper is notified and, after a brief authentication at the terminal, can collect their goods from the goods issue area. The aim was to develop a forward-looking system. High-quality technology had to be combined with a robust design in order to withstand extreme weather conditions, such as heat in summer or frost in winter.

Product / Solution

The tried-and-tested, passively cooled spo-book WINDBOX II is ideally suited for use here. Thanks to the sturdy and solid aluminum housing, no dust etc. can penetrate the interior. The standard wall bracket enables quick and firm fixing. The real,- terminal will be used at the outgoing goods area of the new concept. It is now easy for customers to shop for everyday essentials from home via their PC or on the move using a smartphone. The customer selects the goods via an online store and pre-orders them. As soon as these are available, he is notified and can collect the ordered products by car after brief authentication via the terminal at the outgoing goods department.

Conclusion

No waiting at checkouts, no stress when looking for a parking space. Routine shopping is made easy for the customer and a new opportunity is created to save time and nerves through relaxed shopping via the online system.
