Good to know: What is VESA?

29.09.2017

VESA describes a standard for mounts, which is particularly used for displays. These brackets can be used, for example, to mount mini PCs on screens or screens on walls. You can find out which VESA standards are available and which Mini PCs from spo-comm are VESA-compatible in this article.

What does  the term VESA mean?

The term VESA stands for "Video Electronics Standards Association" and is based on the organization of the same name, which has standardized the requirements for mounts on walls, ceilings and displays, among other things.

How do I determine a VESA standard?

A VESA standard can be easily determined by measuring both the horizontal and vertical distance between the screw holes (from center to center) on the back of a monitor/PC in millimeters.

What VESA standards are there?

As many monitors/PCs have the same standard, VESA has defined three standards.

-    VESA MIS-D
Hole pattern: 75x75 mm or 100x100 mm
>24" screen size

-    VESA MIS-E
Hole pattern: 200x100 mm and/or 200x200 mm

-    VESA MIS-F
Variable hole pattern: 400x200 mm; 400x400 mm; 600x200 mm; 600x400 mm; 800x400mm
>31" screen size
